Publications

In 1985 the Society took the decision to publish a detailed history of public road transport in Leeds. These would be high quality books based on extensive detailed research featuring appropriate illustration.

books2Volume 1, which covered the period up to 1902, was published that year and a further four volumes complete the story up to bus deregulation in 1986. In late 2012 a further book, Leeds Transport on Postcards was published.

Details of all the books are listed below, and are available to purchase by using the order request form, specifying your preferred payment method and mode of delivery.

Please note that postage and packing for up to five books within the UK  is £10.00. Free delivery is available within the Leeds area, or copies can be collected if that suits you better. Overseas buyers can contact the Society in the same way, and postage and packaging details will be provided to your location.

Proceeds from the sale of the books go towards the preservation of Leeds Transport artefacts and helped to fund the restoration of horse tram No.107.
